SkyTab card machine and till for restaurants and pubs

SkyTab is a point of sale and payment system built for hospitality. It's made by Shift4, and in the UK it is now sold as Shift4 Dine. I recommend it when a venue wants ordering and payments in one system.

What SkyTab is

SkyTab is a hospitality point of sale system from Shift4. It brings ordering, payments and reporting together, with handheld devices staff carry to the table. In the UK, skytab.com now points to Shift4 Dine.

When SkyTab makes sense

  • You run a restaurant, pub or bar with table service.
  • You want staff to take orders and payments on one handheld device.
  • Your current till is due for replacement anyway.
  • You want ordering, payments and reports in one place.

When a standalone card machine is better

  • You're happy with your current till.
  • Customers pay at a counter, not at a table.
  • You want the simplest possible setup.

In those cases a portable or countertop machine from Teya, myPOS or Rapyd is usually the better fit.

How I help

I'll look at how your venue runs, check your current card fees and tell you honestly whether a full system like SkyTab is worth it for you. If it is, I'll arrange it. If it isn't, I'll say so.

QUESTIONS

Questions

Is SkyTab the same as Shift4 Dine?

SkyTab is the product name and Shift4 is the company behind it. In the UK, skytab.com now goes to Shift4 Dine.

Is SkyTab only for restaurants?

It's built for hospitality: restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes with table service. A simple counter business usually doesn't need a full point of sale.

Can I keep my current till?

SkyTab replaces the till rather than plugging into it. If you're happy with your till, a standalone card machine may suit you better.
